EFFECTS OF PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC TREATMENT IN ACQUIRED HYPEROSTOSE SYNDROME (SAPHO): A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Abstract

Introduction: The syndrome of acquired hyperostosis was described in 1987, being defined as interconnected dermatological, bone and muscular alterations. The words that make up the acronym, which characterize the same are, Sinovite, Acne, Pustulose, Hyperostose and Osteyte (SAPHO). The initials of these words together form the acronym for such an affliction, being, SAPHO. Kinesiotherapeutic exercises are evidenced as an important tool in the treatment of osteoarticular disorders, generating decrease of pain and gain of mobility. Objectives: To group scientific works related to the Syndrome, allowing current conclusions about physiotherapeutic interventions, and other results. Method: The databases that are being used are: Scielo, PEDro, Medline, Lilacs and Google academic. From the criteria, the studies found by both researchers are being analyzed by mutual agreement between them. We included studies that presented physical therapy as importance, Randomized Clinical Trials (RCTs), SAPHO, publications in English, Spanish and Portuguese, works with visibility of free access. Inappropriate abstracts and titles, non-indexed publications, dissertations, chapters of books or books, pilot studies, theses and annals of congress will be excluded. Results: Positive evolutions in clinical settings were highlighted through the use of kinesiotherapeutic and / or hydrotherapeutic resources, which were subject to drug treatment. Conclusion: Physiotherapy promotes benefits to the patient with SAPHO.
