Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The Scientific Journal of Pro Homine (Revista Científica Pro Homine) is a biannual journal published in electronic format. It aims to promote the production of works in human and social sciences, technology, and health. The journal publishes scientific manuscripts, including editorial, original article, systematic review, and case report.

AUTHOR'S RESPONSIBILITY

All published manuscripts represent the authors' opinion and do not reflect the official policy of the magazine Pro Homine, the editorial board of the magazine or the institution to which the author is affiliated unless stated in a document.

Manuscripts submitted to the Scientific Journal of Pro Homine (Revista Científica Pro Homine) must comply with the authors' instructions, and their simultaneous submission to another printed or electronic journal is not allowed.

When published, the article becomes the property of the magazine.
ETHICAL ASPECTS

Conflict of interest
Authors are requested to send a Conflict of Interest Declaration, signed by all authors, to legitimize the suitability of the results of the submitted study, according to the following model:

Approval of the Research Ethics Committee
The results of research involving human beings, submitted to the Scientific Journal of Pro Homine (Revista Científica Pro Homine), must be in accordance with Resolution no. 466/12 of the National Health Council of Brazil, in addition to complying with specific legislation in the country in which the research was conducted.
In experiments conducted on animals, the guidelines of the Institution of National Research Councils on the use and care of laboratory animals must be followed.
Studies involving humans or animals will only be published by sending the approval copy from the Research Ethics Committee, Animal Research Ethics Committee or equivalent body.
IMPORTANT: The Ethics Committee Approval Letter must be included as a supplementary document!

Registry of Clinical Trials
Manuscripts with clinical research results must present an identification number in one of the Clinical Trial Records validated by the criteria of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Intemational Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), whose addresses are available on the website: http: //www.icmje.org/. The identification number must be registered at the end of the summary.

SECTION CONTENTS
Manuscripts sent to the Pro Homine scientific journal l UNILAVRAS must be written in Portuguese or English and must fit into one of the sections of the magazine, described below:

1 - Editorial - critical and in-depth comment, prepared by the editors of the Magazine and / or by a guest with a notorious experience on the subject addressed. It must contain the structure of an essay text, with Introduction, Development, Conclusion and References.
2 - Original articles - present unpublished research results. They must contain in their structure: Introduction, Objective, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and References.
3 - Systematic reviews - systematic critical evaluation on a given subject, with conclusions. The procedures adopted - search methodology, inclusion and exclusion criteria, results and discussion - should clarify the delimitation of the theme. They must contain in their structure: Introduction, Objective, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and References.
4 - Case reports- Presentation of professional experience, based on peculiar case studies and / or new techniques, with succinct comments of interest to the performance of other professionals in the field. They must contain in their structure: Introduction, Case Report (s), Discussion and References. For technical reports: Introduction, Presentation of the Technique, Conclusion and References.

FOR THE DRAFTING OF THE ARTICLES, THE FOLLOWING STANDARDS MUST BE FOLLOWED:
Pro Homine scientific journal l UNILAVRAS On-Line accepts articles in Portuguese and English.
For authors who are non-native speakers of the English language: the article must be edited by a company providing this service and the proof sent at the time of submission through the field “Transfer Supplementary Documents”

Evaluation and Publication
Articles accepted for evaluation by the Editorial Board will be sent to two reviewers in the area and published only if approved by the reviewers and the Editorial Board. The approval of articles will be based on originality, quality and scientific merit, with the editorial board being responsible for the final decision of acceptance. The identity of authors and reviewers will be kept confidential throughout the process.

Articles that need corrections will be returned to the authors to proceed with the modifications suggested by the reviewers. The corrected article must be returned to the Editorial Committee, within a period defined by the editor, with the changes made highlighted (use another font color), or with the justifications based on the scientific literature for not incorporating the corrections. The entire process is electronic.

The communication between Editor / Author should only be through the system, using the notify author icon in the EDITORIAL DECISION sub-item on the EVALUATION page.

ARTICLE THAT PRESENTS MORE THAN SIX AUTHORS WILL NOT HAVE YOUR SUBMISSION ACCEPTED.
It is not allowed to change authors after the processing. Opinions expressed in articles are the sole responsibility of their authors.

 

MANUSCRIPT FORMATTING FOR ALL SECTIONS

Use this template to write your article.
1- Structure of the Document Texts in Portuguese or English, typed in a Microsoft Word program file, A4 size paper, Normal margins 2.5 X 3.0 cm, single space, Times New Roman 12.

The submitted articles must meet the structuring criteria for their presentation and in accordance with the guidelines outlined below.
Authors are advised to check the structure of the article before submitting it to the journal. The articles that do not meet the mentioned items will be returned to the authors for adaptation before the evaluation by the ad hoc reviewers.
Below are guidelines for writing the article:
1.1 Title: Concise and informative. In Portuguese and English. Title in Portuguese: Caixa Alta, Times New Roman, 12, centralized. Title in English: Caixa Alta, Times New Roman, 12, aligned to the left.
Authors: Full name and institutional affiliation of each author (institution, city, federation unit, country). The journal accepts a maximum number of six authors per article.

1.2 Text Structure
Abstract and Abstract: Must reflect the fundamental aspects of the works, with a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 250.
Adopt the logical structure of the article, without placing subtitles. They must precede the text and be in Portuguese and English.
Keywords: Three to six, in Portuguese and English, presented after the abstract and after the abstract, respectively.
The keywords must be separated by commas.
Consult the DeCS (Health Sciences Descriptors).
Tables: They must be cited in the text by increasing numbers (eg: table 1, table 2, table 3) and must appear very close to the text in which it was mentioned and the title must be just above the table and must be numbered, using the font in size 10, with centralized alignment and the spacing used is simple. The tables must be presented in an editable format (preferably the use of the Microsoft Word program is indicated).
Figures: Figures (table, diagrams, graphs, images and photographs) must be made in high resolution (300 dpi), colored or black and white and must be perfectly legible. They must be cited in the text by increasing numbers (eg: figure 1, figure 2, figure 3). They must appear next to the text where it was cited, with a title at the top, centered at size 12, and Font at the bottom, size 10 (the font is mandatory, even if the figure is from the Author).
Citations and References

Citations in the text: When the author's name is included in the sentence, it must be written in capital letters and with the date. Ex: According to Silva (2009). If the author's name is in parentheses, it must be written in capital letters. When there is more than one author, the names must be separated by a semicolon. Ex: (SILVA; SANTOS, 2010). If the authors are included in the body of the text / sentence, the names must be separated by the letter “e”. Ex: Segundo Amarantes and Gomes (2003); Lima, Andrade and Costa (1999). When there are more than three authors in citations inside or outside the parentheses, the first author must be followed by the expression “et al.”. All bibliography used and cited in the text must be included in the list of references, as well as the entire list of references must be cited in the text.

Direct citations (textual transcription of part of the consulted author's work) with less than three lines must be inserted in the body of the text in double quotation marks; direct citations with more than three lines must be detached from the text with a 4 cm indentation from the left margin, with the font size one point smaller than the font used in the text and without quotation marks (in these cases it is necessary to specify in the quotation a ( s) page (s) of the consulted source).
References: The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the references cited in the text.
References must follow the standards of ABNT NBR 6023/2002. At the end of the work, the references must be presented and ordered alphabetically, according to the examples: Book: CAVALCANTI, A .; GALVÃO, C. Occupational therapy: rationale & practice. Rio de Janeiro: Guanabara Koogan, 2007.
